Get Lost in the Right Direction

When I think about how I pictured what my future would look like, I can most certainly say that I had nothing like this imagined. I was going to be almost done with college, maybe engaged by now (or headed that way), and have a promising job. Well it just goes to show that no one knows the plans for their life. As I write this, I am looking up schools and tuition for Physical Therapy school, applying to any and every job I can find, and I am as single as a pringle. But you know what? I am happy and content. For the first time, I feel like I have a purpose and a place, and I am okay with my life not being how I pictured it. Sure I am missing a few pieces to my puzzle, but who isn’t, they might be different pieces; no ones life is perfect. Yes I wish everyday that I still had my mom here, and that my brothers and I could see each other every day. However, I had my mom for way longer than doctors told her, and my brothers and I are closer than ever because of our pasts.

I feel like I have a blind fold on, and God is leading me through life, whispering in my ear “Trust me.” No matter how many times I run or fall off the path, He is quick to my side. I don’t have to check and make sure it’s Him, all I have to do is believe and trust. So many people try and control their own life, and you know what? It ends up being so much more difficult and trying. Then when they finally realize that if they would have trusted God all along, they would have been far less stressed and stretched thin. No one can see the future or predict what it can hold, that’s not how it works. Make some lemonade with that sour attitude, and let life sweeten it up for you. Smile more, it looks more flattering. Laugh more, it burns calories. Make more memories, after all those will truly last forever.

Life is about surprises, trials, failures, memories, scars, learning, set backs, etc. If you didn’t get knocked on your tushie sometimes then you didn’t get to experience life to the fullest. If you didn’t get scared out of your mind with some adventures or choices, then what memories will you have. If you don’t look back when you’re grey haired, and laugh, then what were you doing. I’m not saying to go crazy and face death or anything outlandish like that. I’m just saying, don’t have “No Ragrets.” Get lost in the right direction.

  1. Kelly, you are inspiring! Love you, girl! Your blog post reminds me of some of my favorite verses found in Psalm 20:4-5 "May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God."
